OUR APPROACH TO GOD

  Votum, Sentences

*Hymn #87- “May Jesus Christ Be Praise”

*Salutation

Summary of the Law of God

  Prayer of Confession

God of love, Jesus taught us that we are to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves, yet so often we are anything but loving and lovable. Forgive us when we are not ambassadors of Christ but instead let anger and hatred rule our lives. Help us to choose to love, to choose to do your will in all of our relationships. Give us the courage, wisdom, and ability to share your extravagant love to all we meet. Amen.

  Silent Prayers

  Words of Assurance

*Gloria Patri (Hymnal #623)

OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD

*Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

Offering - “My Heart is Filled with Longing”                                                       J.S. Bach

 *Doxology (Hymnal #625)

 *Offertory Prayer

Loving Father, you have given us so much and there is so much need in this world. Jesus taught us that to whom much is given, much is expected. Help us to freely reach out in love to our brothers and sisters of this world who need your special touch. Use these gifts we now offer to you to help spread your love in this world of need. Amen.

  Family Prayers, The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever.  Amen.

*Hymn # 292 – “God of Grace and God of Glory”

*Benediction

*Threefold Amen (Hymnal #628)

*Postlude Toccata                                                                                        Eugene Gigot
